Article D212-76 of the French Cinema and Moving Image Code

Printed tickets are made up of two parts, one for the spectator and the other, called the “coupon”, for the ticket inspector.
The part reserved for control is placed, after being detached, in a box specially allocated for this purpose, which is closed and contains only the coupons for the current session.
The numbers on the control coupons are identical to those on the part of the tickets intended for spectators, duly issued at the ticket offices for the session in question. Their number corresponds exactly and at all times to the number of spectators who have entered the auditorium since the start of the session.
The control coupons, classified by screening, or the counterfoils of the booklets are kept by the operator until 31 December of the year following the year in which they were used.
These documents are kept at the disposal of the agents of the Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée and the tax agents in charge of the control.

Les billets imprimerie sont composés de deux parties, dont l’une est destinée au spectateur et l’autre, dénommée ” coupon “, au contrôle.
La partie réservée au contrôle est déposée, après avoir été détachée, dans un coffret spécialement affecté à cet usage, qui est fermé et ne contient que les coupons de la séance en cours.
Les numéros des coupons de contrôle s’identifient à ceux figurant sur la partie des billets destinée aux spectateurs, régulièrement délivrés aux guichets pour la séance considérée. Leur nombre correspond exactement et à tout moment à celui des spectateurs entrés dans la salle depuis le début de la séance.
Les coupons de contrôle, classés par séance, ou les souches des carnets sont conservés par l’exploitant jusqu’au 31 décembre de l’année suivant celle de leur utilisation.
Ces documents sont tenus à la disposition des agents du Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée et des agents des impôts chargés du contrôle.
