Article D47-1-21 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

In order to avoid the negative consequences of the coexistence of parallel criminal proceedings against the same persons for the same acts in several Member States of the European Union, the French judicial authorities shall communicate with the competent judicial authorities of the Member States in accordance with the provisions of Article 695-9-54, in accordance with the procedures defined by this section.

Afin d’éviter les conséquences négatives de la coexistence de procédures pénales parallèles ayant pour objet les mêmes personnes pour les mêmes faits dans plusieurs Etats membres de l’Union européenne, les autorités judiciaires françaises communiquent avec les autorités judiciaires compétentes des Etats membres conformément aux dispositions de l’article 695-9-54, selon les modalités définies par la présente section.
