Article D511-8 of the French Monetary and Financial Code

The statutory auditors referred to in Article L. 511-38 are appointed by the body of these undertakings responsible for approving the accounts.

They are appointed for six financial years. Their term of office expires after the body competent to approve the accounts has ruled on the accounts for the sixth financial year. They may be reappointed.

Pour l’accomplissement de la mission qui leur est dévolue dans les établissements de crédit ou les sociétés de financement, les commissaires aux comptes mentionnés à l’article L. 511-38 sont désignés par l’organe de ces entreprises compétent pour approuver les comptes.

Ils sont désignés pour six exercices. Leurs fonctions expirent après que l’organe compétent pour approuver les comptes a statué sur les comptes du sixième exercice. Leur mandat est renouvelable.
