Article D6221-27 of the French Public Health Code

Withdrawal of authorisation may be ordered by the Director General of the Regional Health Agency where it has been established, through an inspection carried out pursuant to Article L. 6231-1, that the laboratory is operating under conditions that are dangerous to public health.

This decision to withdraw authorisation may only be taken after the head of the laboratory has been given the opportunity to present his observations on the facts justifying the decision, within a period of one month from receipt of the formal notice.

When the Director General of the Regional Health Agency is informed of facts constituting an imminent danger to the safety of patients or persons working in the laboratory, he shall implement the procedure provided for in Article R. 6231-1.

Le retrait de l’autorisation peut être prononcé par le directeur général de l’agence régionale de santé lorsqu’il a été établi, par une inspection réalisée en application de l’article L. 6231-1, que le laboratoire fonctionne dans des conditions dangereuses pour la santé publique.

Cette décision de retrait d’autorisation ne peut intervenir qu’après que le responsable du laboratoire a été mis en mesure de présenter ses observations sur les faits de nature à justifier la décision, dans un délai d’un mois à compter de la réception de la mise en demeure.

Lorsque le directeur général de l’agence régionale de santé est informé de faits constituant un danger imminent pour la sécurité des patients ou des personnes exerçant dans le laboratoire, il met en œuvre la procédure prévue à l’article R. 6231-1.
