Article D6344-1 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

I. – The joint consultation committee referred to in Article LO 6345-3 comprises, in addition to the State representative and the President of the Territorial Council, eight members:

1° Four members appointed by the Minister responsible for Overseas Territories;

2° Four members appointed by the Executive Council.

II. – The commission is chaired alternately for one year by the representative of the State and the representative of the territorial council. It meets at least once a year at the initiative of the State representative.

III. – The joint consultation commission is consulted by the representative of the State or by the president of the territorial council on issues falling within its remit as defined in article LO 6345-3.

IV. – The committee shall draw up its own rules of procedure.

Article D6344-1

I. – La commission paritaire de concertation mentionnée à l’article LO 6345-3 comprend, outre le représentant de l’Etat et le président du conseil territorial, huit membres :

1° Quatre membres nommés par le ministre chargé de l’outre-mer ;

2° Quatre membres nommés par le conseil exécutif.

II. – La commission est présidée alternativement pour un an par le représentant de l’Etat et par le représentant du conseil territorial. Elle se réunit au moins une fois par an à l’initiative du représentant de l’Etat.

III. – La commission paritaire de concertation est consultée par le représentant de l’Etat ou par le président du conseil territorial sur les problèmes relevant de sa compétence telle qu’elle est définie à l’article LO 6345-3.

IV. – La commission établit son règlement intérieur.
