For pseudonymous, anonymous or collective works, the term of the exclusive right is seventy years from 1 January of the calendar year following that in which the work was published. The date of publication is determined by any method of proof under ordinary law, and in particular by legal deposit.
In the event that a pseudonymous, anonymous or collective work is published in instalments, the period runs from 1 January of the calendar year following the date on which each item was published.
When the author or authors of anonymous or pseudonymous works have made themselves known, the term of the exclusive right is that provided for in articles L. 123-1 or L. 123-2.
The provisions of the first and second paragraphs shall only apply to pseudonymous, anonymous or collective works published during the seventy years following the year of their creation.
However, where a pseudonymous, anonymous or collective work is disclosed on expiry of the period referred to in the preceding paragraph, its owner, by succession or otherwise, who makes or causes to be made the publication thereof shall enjoy an exclusive right for twenty-five years from 1 January of the calendar year following that of the publication.
