Article L1243-2 of the French Labour Code

By way of derogation from the provisions of article L. 1243-1, the fixed-term employment contract may be terminated before expiry of the term at the initiative of the employee, where the latter provides proof of the conclusion of a permanent contract.

Unless the parties agree otherwise, the employee is then required to observe a period of notice calculated on the basis of one day per week, taking into account :

1° The total duration of the contract including, where applicable, its one or two renewals, where it includes a specific term ;

2° the duration completed when the contract does not include a specific term.

The notice period may not exceed two weeks.

Article L1243-2

1° De la durée totale du contrat incluant, le cas échéant, son ou ses deux renouvellements, lorsque celui-ci comporte un terme précis ;
