Article L134-3 of the French Commercial code

The commercial agent may accept the representation of new principals without authorisation. However, he may not accept the representation of a business competing with that of one of his principals without the agreement of the latter.

L’agent commercial peut accepter sans autorisation la représentation de nouveaux mandants. Toutefois, il ne peut accepter la représentation d’une entreprise concurrente de celle de l’un de ses mandants sans accord de ce dernier.
