Article L138-4 of the French Intellectual Property Code

An author or his successors in title may object to an approved collective management organisation issuing exploitation authorisations on their behalf. This objection may relate to a work or a group of works.

The opposition may be notified to the approved collective management organisation at any time. If the use of the work has already been authorised, the organisation will terminate it as soon as possible and at the latest within three months of such notification.

Article L138-4

Un auteur ou ses ayants droit peuvent s’opposer à ce qu’un organisme de gestion collective agréé délivre, pour leur compte, les autorisations d’exploitation. Cette opposition peut porter sur une œuvre ou un ensemble d’œuvres.

L’opposition peut être notifiée à tout moment à l’organisme de gestion collective agréé. Si l’utilisation de l’œuvre a déjà été autorisée, l’organisme y met fin dans les meilleurs délais et au plus tard dans les trois mois qui suivent cette notification.
