Article L1424-14 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

Volunteer firefighters belonging to a communal or inter-communal fire brigade serving a main rescue centre or a rescue centre on the date of promulgation of law n° 96-369 of 3 May 1996 relating to fire and rescue services are transferred to the departmental fire and rescue service.

An agreement signed between, on the one hand, the commune or public establishment for inter-communal cooperation and, on the other hand, the departmental fire and rescue service sets out the terms and conditions of the transfers, which must take place within five years of the promulgation of law no. 96-369 of 3 May 1996 relating to fire and rescue services

Les sapeurs-pompiers volontaires relevant d’un corps communal ou intercommunal desservant un centre de secours principal ou un centre de secours à la date de promulgation de la loi n° 96-369 du 3 mai 1996 relative aux services d’incendie et de secours sont transférés au corps départemental.

Une convention signée entre, d’une part, la commune ou l’établissement public de coopération intercommunale et, d’autre part, le service départemental d’incendie et de secours fixe les modalités des transferts qui devront intervenir dans un délai de cinq ans à compter de la promulgation de la loi n° 96-369 du 3 mai 1996 relative aux services d’incendie et de secours
