Article L1424-21 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

The departmental consultative commission mentioned in article L1424-20 comprises, in addition to the four representatives of the firefighters who sit on the board of directors of the fire and rescue service:

1° Four representatives of the department elected by the departmental council from among its members;

2° Four representatives of the municipalities and public establishments for inter-municipal cooperation elected by the college of mayors and presidents of public establishments for inter-municipal cooperation in the department, from among its members;

3° The departmental director of public finance or his representative, and an expert appointed by the prefect.

The representatives of the department, the municipalities and the public establishments for inter-municipal cooperation may not hold office as members of the board of directors of the fire and rescue service.

The chairman of the consultative commission is elected by the college of representatives of the department, communes and public establishments for inter-communal cooperation, from among its members.

La commission consultative départementale mentionnée à l’article L1424-20 comprend, outre les quatre représentants des sapeurs-pompiers qui siègent au conseil d’administration du service d’incendie et de secours :

1° Quatre représentants du département élus par le conseil départemental en son sein ;

2° Quatre représentants des communes et des établissements publics de coopération intercommunale élus par le collège des maires et présidents d’établissement public de coopération intercommunale dans le département, en son sein ;

3° Le directeur départemental des finances publiques ou son représentant, et un expert désigné par le préfet.

Les représentants du département, des communes et des établissements publics de coopération intercommunale ne peuvent exercer un mandat de membre du conseil d’administration du service d’incendie et de secours.

Le président de la commission consultative est élu par le collège des représentants du département, des communes et des établissements publics de coopération intercommunale, en son sein.
