Article L2113-12-1 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

The municipal council of a new commune may set up a conference of the mayor and deputy mayors, chaired by the mayor and comprising the deputy mayors, within which any issue relating to the coordination of public action within the territory of the new commune may be discussed.

The conference of the mayor and deputy mayors meets at least once a year, when convened by its chairman or at the request of all the deputy mayors who make up the conference on a specific agenda.

Le conseil municipal d’une commune nouvelle peut instituer une conférence du maire et des maires délégués, présidée par le maire et comprenant les maires délégués, au sein de laquelle peut être débattue toute question de coordination de l’action publique sur le territoire de la commune nouvelle.

La conférence du maire et des maires délégués se réunit au moins une fois par an, sur convocation de son président ou à la demande de l’ensemble des maires délégués qui la composent sur un ordre du jour déterminé.
