Article L212-7 of the French Intellectual Property Code

Contracts entered into prior to 1 January 1986 between a performer and a producer of an audiovisual work or their assignees shall be subject to the foregoing provisions in respect of the modes of exploitation which they excluded. The corresponding remuneration does not have the character of a salary.

Les contrats passés antérieurement au 1er janvier 1986 entre un artiste-interprète et un producteur d’oeuvre audiovisuelle ou leurs cessionnaires sont soumis aux dispositions qui précèdent, en ce qui concerne les modes d’exploitation qu’ils excluaient.
