Article L2121-8 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

In municipalities with a population of 1,000 or more, the municipal council draws up its own rules of procedure within six months of taking office. The by-laws previously adopted continue to apply until the new by-laws are drawn up.

The by-laws may be referred to the administrative court.

Dans les communes de 1 000 habitants et plus, le conseil municipal établit son règlement intérieur dans les six mois qui suivent son installation. Le règlement intérieur précédemment adopté continue à s’appliquer jusqu’à l’établissement du nouveau règlement.

Le règlement intérieur peut être déféré au tribunal administratif.
