Losses of income suffered by municipal councillors who are employed or self-employed and who do not receive a function allowance may be compensated by the municipality or by the body to which they represent it, when these result:
-from their attendance at the sittings and meetings mentioned in article L. 2123-1;
-the exercise of their right to a credit of hours when they are in salaried employment or, when they are self-employed, of the time they devote to the administration of this municipality or this body and to the preparation of meetings of the bodies on which they sit, within the limit of the credit of hours provided for councillors of the municipality.
This compensation is limited to seventy-two hours per elected member per year; each hour may not be paid at an amount greater than one and a half times the hourly value of the minimum growth wage.
