Article L2143-15 of the French Labour Code

The central trade union delegate provided for in the first paragraph of Article L. 2143-5 has twenty-four hours per month to carry out his duties.

These hours are in addition to those he may have in a capacity other than that of establishment trade union delegate.

Unless there is a collective agreement to the contrary, when the elected or appointed staff representative is an employee mentioned in article L. 3121-58, the credit for hours is grouped into half-days which are deducted from the annual number of days worked set in the employee’s individual agreement. A half-day corresponds to four hours of office. When the remaining credit or fraction of the credit is less than four hours, the staff representative benefits from it under conditions defined by a decree of the Conseil d’Etat.

Le délégué syndical central prévu au premier alinéa de l’article L. 2143-5 dispose de vingt-quatre heures par mois pour l’exercice de ses fonctions.

Ces heures s’ajoutent à celles dont il peut disposer à un titre autre que celui de délégué syndical d’établissement.

Sauf accord collectif contraire, lorsque le représentant du personnel élu ou désigné est un salarié mentionné à l’article L. 3121-58, le crédit d’heures est regroupé en demi-journées qui viennent en déduction du nombre annuel de jours travaillés fixé dans la convention individuelle du salarié. Une demi-journée correspond à quatre heures de mandat. Lorsque le crédit d’heures ou la fraction du crédit d’heures restant est inférieur à quatre heures, le représentant du personnel en bénéficie dans des conditions définies par un décret en Conseil d’Etat.
