If the woman is an unemancipated minor, the consent of one of the persons vested with parental authority or, where applicable, of the legal representative must be obtained before carrying out the voluntary interruption of pregnancy for medical reasons referred to inarticle L. 2213-1.
If the unemancipated minor woman wishes to maintain confidentiality, the doctor must endeavour, in her interest, to obtain her consent for one of the persons exercising parental authority or, where applicable, the legal representative to be consulted or must check that this has been done.
If the unemancipated minor does not wish to take this step or if consent is not obtained, the termination of pregnancy for medical reasons and the medical procedures and care associated with it may be carried out at the request of the person concerned. In this case, the minor must be accompanied by an adult of her choice.
