Article L223-4 of the French Monetary and Financial Code

Savings certificates are entered in the name of their owner in a register kept by the issuer.

The issuer provides the owner of the savings bond with a certificate of registration in the register and, where the owner is one of the persons referred to in 2° of article L. 223-2, provides the owner with its most recent annual financial statements, the accuracy of which it certifies. A decree shall specify, for each category of savings bond issuer, the information to be included on the registration certificate.

Issuers of savings bonds may not rely on the provisions of article L. 232-25 of the Commercial Code.

Les bons de caisse sont inscrits au nom de leur propriétaire dans un registre tenu par l’émetteur.

L’émetteur remet au propriétaire du bon de caisse un certificat d’inscription dans le registre et, lorsqu’il est au nombre des personnes mentionnées au 2° de l’article L. 223-2, met à sa disposition ses derniers comptes annuels, dont il atteste la sincérité. Un décret précise, pour chaque catégorie d’émetteur de bons de caisse, les mentions figurant sur le certificat d’inscription.

L’émetteur de bons de caisse ne peut se prévaloir des dispositions de l’article L. 232-25 du code de commerce.
