Article L225-208 of the French Commercial code

Companies which allow their employees to share in their results by allocating their shares, those which allocate their shares under the conditions provided for in articles L. 225-197-1 to L. 225-197-3 of this Code and those which grant options to purchase their shares under the conditions set out in articles L. 225-177 et seq. may, for this purpose, buy back their own shares. The shares must be allocated or the options granted within one year of the acquisition date.

Les sociétés qui font participer leurs salariés à leurs résultats par attribution de leurs actions, celles qui attribuent leurs actions dans les conditions prévues aux articles L. 225-197-1 à L. 225-197-3 du présent code et celles qui consentent des options d’achat de leurs actions dans les conditions prévues aux articles L. 225-177 et suivants peuvent, à cette fin, racheter leurs propres actions. Les actions doivent être attribuées ou les options doivent être consenties dans le délai d’un an à compter de l’acquisition.
