Article L233-2 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

Third-country nationals who are family members of a European Union citizen meeting the conditions set out in 1° or 2° of article L. 233-1, have the right to reside on French territory for more than three months.
The same applies to third-country nationals, spouses or dependent direct descendants accompanying or joining a European Union citizen satisfying the conditions set out in 3° of article L. 233-1.

Les ressortissants de pays tiers, membres de famille d’un citoyen de l’Union européenne satisfaisant aux conditions énoncées aux 1° ou 2° de l’article L. 233-1, ont le droit de séjourner sur le territoire français pour une durée supérieure à trois mois.
Il en va de même pour les ressortissants de pays tiers, conjoints ou descendants directs à charge accompagnant ou rejoignant un citoyen de l’Union européenne satisfaisant aux conditions énoncées au 3° de l’article L. 233-1.
