Article L2335-2-1 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

A support fund is set up for municipalities affected by the territorial redeployment of armed forces. The communes of French Polynesia and New Caledonia are eligible for this fund.

The distribution of the fund’s credits takes into account changes in the resources of the communes affected by the armies’ territorial redeployment plan. It is set by joint order of the Minister for the Interior and the Minister for the Budget.

As an exception to articles L. 2224-1 and L. 2224-2, subsidies granted under the fund may be repaid, in whole or in part, to communal public services of an industrial or commercial nature in order to offset the effects on their operations of the territorial redeployment of armies.

Article L2335-2-1
