Article L2511-27 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

The mayor of the commune or the mayor of Paris may, under his or her supervision and responsibility, by decree, delegate signing authority to the director general of services of the mayor’s office or of the City of Paris and to the heads of communal services.

The arrondissement may, under the same conditions, delegate signing authority to the director general of services of the arrondissement mayor’s office.

The arrondissement may also, under the same conditions, delegate signing authority to the deputy director general of services of the arrondissement mayor’s office.

Le maire de la commune ou le maire de Paris peut donner sous sa surveillance et sa responsabilité, par arrêté, délégation de signature au directeur général des services de la mairie ou de la Ville de Paris et aux responsables de services communaux.

Le maire d’arrondissement peut, dans les mêmes conditions, donner délégation de signature au directeur général des services de la mairie d’arrondissement.

Le maire d’arrondissement peut également, dans les mêmes conditions, donner délégation de signature au directeur général adjoint des services de la mairie d’arrondissement.
