Article L2511-4 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

In each arrondissement or group of arrondissements determined in accordance with the tables in articles L. 2511-5 to L. 2511-7, a borough council is created. The arrondissement council meets at the arrondissement town hall or at one of the town halls located in the group of arrondissements.

Where an arrondissement council is established for a group of arrondissements, it shall exercise, for the arrondissements in the group, the powers devolved to the arrondissement council by this chapter. The provisions of this chapter relating to the arrondissement are applicable to the group of arrondissements.

Article L2511-4

Dans chaque arrondissement ou groupe d’arrondissements fixés conformément aux tableaux figurant aux articles L. 2511-5 à L. 2511-7, il est créé un conseil d’arrondissement. Le conseil d’arrondissement se réunit à la mairie d’arrondissement ou à l’une des mairies situées dans le groupe d’arrondissements.

Lorsqu’un conseil d’arrondissement est créé pour un groupe d’arrondissements, il exerce, pour les arrondissements du groupe, les attributions dévolues, par le présent chapitre, au conseil d’arrondissement. Les dispositions du présent chapitre relatives à l’arrondissement sont applicables au groupe d’arrondissements.
