Article L2522-3 of the French Labour Code

The parties shall appear in person before the conciliation boards or, in the event of serious impediment, shall be represented by a person empowered to negotiate and conclude a conciliation agreement.

Any legal entity that is a party to the dispute shall appoint a duly authorised representative with the power to negotiate and conclude a conciliation agreement.

If one of the parties duly convened does not appear or is not represented, the Chairman will convene a new meeting to be held no later than eight days after the first meeting.

Les parties comparaissent en personne devant les commissions de conciliation ou, en cas d’empêchement grave, se font représenter par une personne ayant pouvoir pour négocier et conclure un accord de conciliation.

Toute personne morale partie au conflit nomme un représentant dûment mandaté et ayant pouvoir pour négocier et conclure un accord de conciliation.

Lorsque l’une des parties régulièrement convoquée ne comparaît pas ou ne se fait pas représenter, le président la convoque à une nouvelle réunion qui a lieu, au plus tard, huit jours après la première.
