Article L312-6 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

The documents referred to in 2° and 3° of Article L. 311-1 are not required of:
1° a foreign national coming to join his or her spouse who has been duly authorised to reside in France;
2° children under the age of eighteen coming to join their father or mother who has been duly authorised to reside in France;
3° persons who can render, through their abilities or talents, important services to France, or propose to carry out disinterested activities there.

Article L312-6

Les documents mentionnés aux 2° et 3° de l’article L. 311-1 ne sont pas exigés :
1° D’un étranger venant rejoindre son conjoint régulièrement autorisé à résider en France ;
2° Des enfants mineurs de dix-huit ans venant rejoindre leur père ou leur mère régulièrement autorisé à résider en France ;
3° Des personnes qui peuvent rendre, par leurs capacités ou leurs talents, des services importants à la France, ou se proposent d’y exercer des activités désintéressées.
