Article L313-3 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

The mayor may refuse to validate the reception certificate in the following cases:
1° The host cannot produce the required supporting documents;
2° It is apparent, either from the content of the attestation and the supporting documents presented, or from the verification carried out at the host’s home, that the foreign national cannot be received in normal housing conditions;
3° The details on the attestation are inaccurate;
4° The attestations previously signed by the host have revealed, where applicable after an investigation requested by the authority responsible for validating the reception attestation from the police services or gendarmerie units, an abuse of procedure.

Article L313-3

Le maire peut refuser de valider l’attestation d’accueil dans les cas suivants :
1° L’hébergeant ne peut pas présenter les pièces justificatives requises ;
2° Il ressort, soit de la teneur de l’attestation et des pièces justificatives présentées, soit de la vérification effectuée au domicile de l’hébergeant, que l’étranger ne peut être accueilli dans des conditions normales de logement ;
3° Les mentions portées sur l’attestation sont inexactes ;
4° Les attestations antérieurement signées par l’hébergeant ont fait apparaître, le cas échéant après enquête demandée par l’autorité chargée de valider l’attestation d’accueil aux services de police ou aux unités de gendarmerie, un détournement de la procédure.
