Article L321-2 of the French Code of civil enforcement procedures

The act of seizure renders the property unavailable and restricts the seized person’s rights of enjoyment and administration.
The distrainee may not dispose of the property or encumber it with real rights, subject to the provisions of Article L. 322-1.
Unless the property is rented, the distrainee is constituted sequestrator unless circumstances justify the appointment of a third party or the eviction of the debtor for serious reasons.

L’acte de saisie rend l’immeuble indisponible et restreint les droits de jouissance et d’administration du saisi.
Celui-ci ne peut ni aliéner le bien ni le grever de droits réels sous réserve des dispositions de l’article L. 322-1.
A moins que le bien soit loué, le saisi en est constitué séquestre sauf à ce que les circonstances justifient la désignation d’un tiers ou l’expulsion du débiteur pour cause grave.
