Article L423-16 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

The spouse of a foreign national holding a resident card, who has been authorised to reside in France for family reunification purposes under the conditions laid down in Chapter IV of Title III and who can prove at least three years’ uninterrupted legal residence in France, will be issued with a ten-year resident card.
The issue of this resident card is subject to compliance with the conditions of republican integration set out in article L. 413-7.
This card is issued, under the same conditions, to the children of the foreign national mentioned in the first paragraph, in the year following their eighteenth birthday or when they come under the provisions of article L. 421-35.

Article L423-16

Le conjoint d’un étranger titulaire de la carte de résident, qui a été autorisé à séjourner en France au titre du regroupement familial dans les conditions prévues au chapitre IV du titre III et qui justifie d’une résidence régulière non interrompue d’au moins trois années en France, se voit délivrer une carte de résident d’une durée de dix ans.
La délivrance de cette carte de résident est subordonnée au respect des conditions d’intégration républicaine prévues à l’article L. 413-7.
Cette carte est délivrée, dans les mêmes conditions, aux enfants de l’étranger mentionné au premier alinéa, dans l’année qui suit leur dix-huitième anniversaire ou lorsqu’ils entrent dans les prévisions de l’article L. 421-35.
