Article L433-1 of the French Code of civil enforcement procedures

The furniture found on the premises is returned, at the evicted person’s expense, to a place designated by the latter. Failing this, they will be left on the premises or stored in another suitable place described in detail by the bailiff in charge of enforcement, with a summons to the evicted person to remove them within a period set by regulation.

Les meubles se trouvant sur les lieux sont remis, aux frais de la personne expulsée, en un lieu que celle-ci désigne. A défaut, ils sont laissés sur place ou entreposés en un autre lieu approprié et décrits avec précision par l’huissier de justice chargé de l’exécution avec sommation à la personne expulsée d’avoir à les retirer dans un délai fixé par voie réglementaire.
