Article L4522-2 of the French Labour Code

The employer shall define and implement, for the benefit of the managers of external companies and the workers they employ, as well as self-employed workers, practical and appropriate training in the particular risks that their work may present due to its nature or the proximity of the classified installation, before the start of their first intervention on the premises of the establishment.

This training is provided without prejudice to that provided for by articles L. 4141-2 and L. 4142-1. The procedures for its implementation, its content and the conditions for its renewal may be specified by agreement or collective agreement at branch level or by agreement or collective agreement at company or establishment level.

L’employeur définit et met en oeuvre au bénéfice des chefs d’entreprises extérieures et des travailleurs qu’ils emploient ainsi que des travailleurs indépendants, avant le début de leur première intervention dans l’enceinte de l’établissement, une formation pratique et appropriée aux risques particuliers que leur intervention peut présenter en raison de sa nature ou de la proximité de l’installation classée.

Cette formation est dispensée sans préjudice de celles prévues par les articles L. 4141-2 et L. 4142-1. Ses modalités de mise en oeuvre, son contenu et les conditions de son renouvellement peuvent être précisés par convention ou accord collectif de branche ou par convention ou accord collectif d’entreprise ou d’établissement.
