Occupational health and prevention services are provided by a multidisciplinary occupational health team comprising occupational physicians, medical assistants, occupational medicine interns, occupational risk prevention specialists and nurses. These teams may be supplemented by medical auxiliaries with occupational health skills, occupational health and prevention service assistants and professionals recruited on the advice of occupational physicians. Occupational physicians are responsible for leading and coordinating the multidisciplinary team, or they delegate this responsibility.
A decree in the Council of State specifies the conditions under which the occupational health physician may delegate, under his responsibility and in compliance with the multi-annual service project, certain tasks provided for in this title to members of the multidisciplinary team who have the necessary qualifications. In the case of professions whose conditions of practice are governed by the Public Health Code, these tasks are carried out within the limits of the competencies of health professionals as set out in that Code.
In order to carry out all of their tasks, the inter-company occupational health and prevention services may, by agreement, call upon the skills of the occupational health and prevention services mentioned in article L. 4622-4 of this code.
