Article L512-47 of the French Monetary and Financial Code

The organe central du crédit agricole is a public limited company (société anonyme), responsible for facilitating, coordinating and controlling the performance of the operations provided for in this Code, governed by the provisions of the Code de commerce and by the specific provisions of this sub-section.

It carries on the tasks which, prior to the promulgation of the law of 18 January 1988 relating to the mutualisation of the caisse nationale de crédit agricole, were entrusted by law to the caisse nationale de crédit agricole and to the fonds commun de garantie.

The holdings of the caisses régionales de crédit agricole mutuel referred to in Article L. 512-34 in the capital of the organe central du crédit agricole are grouped together in a joint company.

Article L512-47

L’organe central du crédit agricole est une société anonyme, chargée de faciliter, de coordonner et de contrôler la réalisation des opérations prévues au présent code, régie par les dispositions du code de commerce et par les dispositions spécifiques de la présente sous-section.

Il poursuit les missions qui, avant la promulgation de la loi du 18 janvier 1988 relative à la mutualisation de la caisse nationale de crédit agricole, étaient confiées par la loi à la caisse nationale de crédit agricole et au fonds commun de garantie.

Les participations des caisses régionales de crédit agricole mutuel visées à l’article L. 512-34 dans le capital de l’organe central du crédit agricole sont regroupées dans une société commune.
