Article L5132-1 of the French Public Health Code

Poisonous substances include :

1° (Deleted) ;

2° Narcotic substances ;

3° Psychotropic substances;

4° Substances included in list I and list II as defined in article L. 5132-6.

For the purposes of this Part :

Substances” means chemical elements and their compounds as they occur in the natural state or as produced by industry, possibly containing any additives necessary for their marketing.

Preparations” means mixtures or solutions composed of two or more substances.

Article L5132-1

Sont comprises comme substances vénéneuses :

1° (Supprimé) ;

2° Les substances stupéfiantes ;

3° Les substances psychotropes ;

4° Les substances inscrites sur la liste I et la liste II définies à l’article L. 5132-6.

Au sens de cette présente partie :

On entend par ” substances ” les éléments chimiques et leurs composés comme ils se présentent à l’état naturel ou tels qu’ils sont produits par l’industrie, contenant éventuellement tout additif nécessaire à leur mise sur le marché.

On entend par ” préparations ” les mélanges ou solutions composés de deux substances ou plus.
