Article L5134-113 of the French Labour Code

Aid for future employment is granted for a minimum of twelve months and a maximum of thirty-six months, without being able to exceed the term of the employment contract.

Where the aid was initially granted for a period of less than thirty-six months, it may be extended up to this maximum period.

By way of exception, in order to allow the beneficiary to complete a vocational training course, an extension of the aid beyond the maximum duration of thirty-six months may be authorised by the persons mentioned in 1° and 2° of article L. 5134-19-1. The duration of the extension may not exceed the end of the action concerned.

L’aide relative à l’emploi d’avenir est accordée pour une durée minimale de douze mois et pour une durée maximale de trente-six mois, sans pouvoir excéder le terme du contrat de travail.

Lorsque l’aide a été initialement accordée pour une durée inférieure à trente-six mois, elle peut être prolongée jusqu’à cette durée maximale.

A titre dérogatoire, afin de permettre au bénéficiaire d’achever une action de formation professionnelle, une prolongation de l’aide au-delà de la durée maximale de trente-six mois peut être autorisée par les personnes mentionnées aux 1° et 2° de l’article L. 5134-19-1. La durée de la prolongation ne peut excéder le terme de l’action concernée.
