Article L5141-2 of the French Public Health Code

I.-The veterinary medicinal products referred to in this chapter are those defined in Article 4 of Regulation (EU) 2019/6 of 11 December 2018 and in this Article.

II.-The following definitions apply:

1° Extemporaneous veterinary preparation, any veterinary medicinal product which is not prepared in advance and which meets the conditions laid down in b or c of paragraph 6 of Article 2 of Regulation (EU) 2019/6 of 11 December 2018;

2° Magistral veterinary preparation, any extemporaneous preparation carried out either by an authorised person referred to in Article L. 5143-2, or under the conditions provided for in Article L. 5143-9-1 in accordance with a veterinary prescription, for a specific animal or a small group of animals as defined in Article 2(6)(b) of Regulation (EU) 2019/6 of 11 December 2018;

3° Compendial veterinary preparation, any preparation made in a pharmacy in accordance with the instructions of a pharmacopoeia and intended to be delivered directly to the end user.

Article L5141-2

I.-Les médicaments vétérinaires mentionnés au présent chapitre sont ceux définis à l’article 4 du règlement (UE) 2019/6 du 11 décembre 2018 et au présent article.

II.-On entend par :

1° Préparation extemporanée vétérinaire, tout médicament vétérinaire qui n’est pas préparé à l’avance et qui répond aux conditions fixées au b ou au c du paragraphe 6 de l’article 2 du règlement (UE) 2019/6 du 11 décembre 2018 ;

2° Préparation magistrale vétérinaire, toute préparation extemporanée réalisée soit par une personne autorisée visée à l’article L. 5143-2, soit dans des conditions prévues à l’article L. 5143-9-1 conformément à une ordonnance vétérinaire, pour un animal déterminé ou un petit groupe d’animaux tel que défini au b du paragraphe 6 de l’article 2 du règlement (UE) 2019/6 du 11 décembre 2018 ;

3° Préparation officinale vétérinaire, toute préparation réalisée en pharmacie conformément aux instructions d’une pharmacopée et destinée à être délivrée directement à l’utilisateur final.
