Article L5222-2 of the French Labour Code

All employers are prohibited from obtaining reimbursement of the flat-rate fee they have paid to the French Office for Immigration and Integration or the travel expenses they have paid for a foreign worker to come to France, and from making deductions from the worker’s wages, in any form whatsoever, in connection with his or her recruitment.

Il est interdit à tout employeur de se faire rembourser la redevance forfaitaire qu’il a versée à l’Office français de l’immigration et de l’intégration ou les frais de voyage qu’il a réglés pour la venue d’un travailleur étranger en France ainsi que d’opérer sur le salaire de celui-ci des retenues, sous quelque dénomination que ce soit, à l’occasion de son embauche.
