Article L526-4 of the French Commercial code

When applying for registration in the Trade and Companies Register, the Special Register of Commercial Agents, the Special Register of Sole Proprietorships with Limited Liability or the National Register of Companies, a natural person married under a legal or contractual community regime must provide evidence that his or her spouse has been informed of the consequences for joint assets of debts contracted in the exercise of his or her profession.

A decree in the Council of State shall specify, where necessary, the terms and conditions for applying this article.

Lors de sa demande d’immatriculation au registre du commerce et des sociétés, au registre spécial des agents commerciaux, au registre spécial des entreprises individuelles à responsabilité limitée ou au registre national des entreprises, la personne physique mariée sous un régime de communauté légale ou conventionnelle doit justifier que son conjoint a été informé des conséquences sur les biens communs des dettes contractées dans l’exercice de sa profession.

Un décret en Conseil d’Etat précise en tant que de besoin les modalités d’application du présent article.
