Article L613-1 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

Reasons must be given for the decision imposing an obligation to leave French territory.
In the case provided for in 3° of article L. 611-1, the decision imposing an obligation to leave French territory does not have to be reasoned separately from the decision relating to residence. However, the reasons for any decisions relating to the deadline for voluntary departure and the prohibition on return are indicated.

La décision portant obligation de quitter le territoire français est motivée.
Dans le cas prévu au 3° de l’article L. 611-1, la décision portant obligation de quitter le territoire français n’a pas à faire l’objet d’une motivation distincte de celle de la décision relative au séjour. Toutefois, les motifs des décisions relatives au délai de départ volontaire et à l’interdiction de retour édictées le cas échéant sont indiqués.
