Article L614-21 of the French Intellectual Property Code

Before the end of either of the periods mentioned in the last paragraph of article L. 614-20, the prohibitions provided for in the said article may be extended, at the request of the Minister of Defence, for a renewable period of one year. In this case, the request is not forwarded to the International Bureau set up by the Washington Treaty. Extended bans may be lifted at any time.

In the case of extended bans, the provisions of the second, third and fourth paragraphs of the article L. 612-10 are applicable.

Avant le terme de l’un ou de l’autre des délais mentionnés au dernier alinéa de l’article L. 614-20, les interdictions prévues audit article peuvent être prorogées, sur réquisition du ministre de la défense, pour une durée d’un an renouvelable. Dans ce cas, la demande n’est pas transmise au bureau international institué par le traité de Washington. Les interdictions prorogées peuvent être levées à tout moment.

Dans le cas de prorogations des interdictions, les dispositions des deuxième, troisième et quatrième alinéas de l’article L. 612-10 sont applicables.
