The opening of a medical biology laboratory is subject to the prior filing, by its legal representative, of a declaration with the regional health agency, within a period set by regulation. The content of this declaration is also laid down by regulation.
Where the laboratory’s sites are located in regions under the jurisdiction of different regional health agencies, the declaration must be filed with each of the regional health agencies.
Before the laboratory opens for business, its legal representative shall send the Regional Health Agency the provisional certificate issued by the national accreditation body pursuant to II of Article L. 6221-2.
The legal representative shall declare to the Regional Health Agency any change in the general organisation of the laboratory and any change in its legal and financial structure. The time limit within which this declaration must be made and its content are set by regulation.
