The sites of the medical biology laboratory are located either in the same area determined in application of b of 2° of Article L. 1434-9, or in a maximum of three of these adjoining areas, unless an exemption is granted by the Director General of the Regional Health Agency under conditions determined by decree in the Council of State and provided for in the regional health plan.
When a medical biology laboratory includes sites located in France and abroad, the maximum distance that may separate the sites located on national territory from those located on the territory of one or more other States is determined by regulation, taking into account local circumstances.
When the regional health plan is revised or when the boundaries of the areas mentioned in the first paragraph of this article are changed, the conditions under which the sites of a medical biology laboratory may be maintained, temporarily or permanently, are determined by regulation.
