Article L722-3 of the French Commercial code

The panel of judges is presided over by the president of the commercial court or by a judge of that court who has held judicial office for at least three years, subject to the application of the provisions of article L. 722-15.

La formation de jugement est présidée par le président du tribunal de commerce ou par un juge de ce tribunal ayant exercé des fonctions judiciaires pendant au moins trois ans, sous réserve de l’application des dispositions de l’article L. 722-15.
