Article L8121-1 of the French Labour Code

The central labour inspection authority provided for by Convention No. 81 of the International Labour Organisation of 11 July 1947 on labour inspection and Convention No. 129 of the International Labour Organisation of 25 June 1969 on labour inspection shall ensure that the rights, guarantees and obligations of the labour inspection officers placed under its supervision and control are respected. It determines the rules governing the performance of its duties and ensures that they are complied with. It shall ensure the application of the code of ethics of the labour inspection public service provided for in Article L. 8124-1.

L’autorité centrale de l’inspection du travail prévue par la convention n° 81 de l’Organisation internationale du travail du 11 juillet 1947 sur l’inspection du travail ainsi que par la convention n° 129 de l’Organisation internationale du travail du 25 juin 1969 sur l’inspection du travail veille au respect des droits, garanties et obligations des agents de l’inspection du travail placés sous sa surveillance et son contrôle. Elle détermine les règles qui encadrent l’exercice des missions et s’assure de leur respect. Elle veille à l’application du code de déontologie du service public de l’inspection du travail prévu par l’article L. 8124-1.
