Article L8123-6 of the French Labour Code

The Minister responsible for labour may appoint doctors to carry out special temporary assignments concerning the application of provisions relating to workers’ health.

The Minister may also appoint engineers who hold the title of qualified engineer within the meaning of articles L. 642-1 et seq. of the Education Code, temporary assignments concerning the application of provisions relating to the health and safety of workers.

Labour inspection medical officers and engineering officers enjoy, for the performance of these missions, the rights attributed to the labour inspection control officers mentioned in article L. 8112-1 by articles L. 8113-1 et L. 8113-3.

Le ministre chargé du travail peut charger des médecins de missions spéciales temporaires concernant l’application des dispositions relatives à la santé des travailleurs.

Le ministre peut également charger des ingénieurs, titulaires du titre d’ingénieur diplômé au sens des articles L. 642-1 et suivants du code de l’éducation, de missions temporaires concernant l’application des dispositions relatives à la santé et la sécurité des travailleurs.

Les médecins conseils et les ingénieurs conseils de l’inspection du travail jouissent, pour l’exécution de ces missions, des droits attribués aux agents de contrôle de l’inspection du travail mentionnés à l’article L. 8112-1 par les articles L. 8113-1 et L. 8113-3.
