Article L822-3 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

The total amount of the financial penalties provided for, for the employment of a foreigner not authorised to work, in article L. 822-2 of this Code and article L. 8253-1 of the Labour Code may not exceed the amount of the criminal penalties provided for in articles L. 8256-2, L. 8256-7 and L. 8256-8 of the same code or, if the employer falls within the scope of these articles, the amount of the criminal penalties provided for in articles L. 823-1 to L. 823-10 of this code.

Article L822-3

Le montant total des sanctions pécuniaires prévues, pour l’emploi d’un étranger non autorisé à travailler, à l’article L. 822-2 du présent code et à l’article L. 8253-1 du code du travail ne peut excéder le montant des sanctions pénales prévues aux articles L. 8256-2, L. 8256-7 et L. 8256-8 du même code ou, si l’employeur entre dans le champ d’application de ces articles, le montant des sanctions pénales prévues aux articles L. 823-1 à L. 823-10 du présent code.
