Article L910-1 B of the French Commercial code

The chairman of each observatory is appointed for a renewable term of five years, by order of the first president of the Cour des Comptes, from among the members of the corps of magistrates of the financial jurisdictions or from among the honorary magistrates of these corps.

Le président de chaque observatoire est nommé, pour un mandat de cinq ans renouvelable, par arrêté du premier président de la Cour des comptes, parmi les membres du corps des magistrats des juridictions financières ou parmi les magistrats honoraires de ces corps.
