Article LO6314-5 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

Under the conditions laid down in Article LO 6351-3, the local authority may participate, under the supervision of the State, in the exercise of the powers that fall to the State in matters of criminal law with a view to punishing infringements of the rules that it lays down in the matters referred to in I of Article LO 6314-3 and in matters of maritime policing and safety.

Dans les conditions prévues à l’article LO 6351-3, la collectivité peut participer, sous le contrôle de l’Etat, à l’exercice des compétences qui relèvent de l’Etat en matière de droit pénal en vue de la répression des infractions aux règles qu’elle fixe dans les matières mentionnées au I de l’article LO 6314-3 et en matière de police et de sécurité maritimes.
