Article LO6413-1 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

Legislative and regulatory provisions shall apply ipso jure in Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, with the exception of those which intervene in matters falling within the jurisdiction of the organic law pursuant to Article 74 of the Constitution or in one of the matters falling within the remit of the local authority pursuant to II of Article LO 6414-1.

The automatic applicability of laws and regulations does not prevent them from being adapted to the specific organisation of the local authority.

This article shall enter into force on 1 January 2008. As from this date, the laws and regulations already in force in matters not excluded from the system of automatic application become applicable to Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, provided that they do not provide otherwise.

Article LO6413-1

Les dispositions législatives et réglementaires sont applicables de plein droit à Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, à l’exception de celles qui interviennent dans les matières relevant de la loi organique en application de l’article 74 de la Constitution ou dans l’une des matières relevant de la compétence de la collectivité en application du II de l’article LO 6414-1.

L’applicabilité de plein droit des lois et règlements ne fait pas obstacle à leur adaptation à l’organisation particulière de la collectivité.

Le présent article entre en vigueur le 1er janvier 2008. A compter de cette date, les lois et règlements déjà intervenus dans les matières qui ne sont pas exclues du régime de l’application de plein droit deviennent applicables à Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, sous réserve qu’ils n’en disposent pas autrement.
