Article R1132-5-1 of the French Public Health Code

The genetic counsellor may, in the cases defined by the organisational protocol provided for in Article R. 1132-5-2:

1° Prescribe the medical biology examinations mentioned in Article R. 1131-2 and in 3° of I and 1° and 2° of II of Article R. 2131-1, provide the information due to the person concerned in respect of this prescription, obtain their consent to the examination being carried out and, where applicable, draw up the written document referred to in Article L. 1131-1 and record the person’s wish to be kept in ignorance of the results, in accordance with the procedures laid down by the provisions applicable to each category of examination. The consultation with the genetic counsellor replaces, where applicable, the medical consultations provided for in Articles L. 2131-1, R. 1131-5 and R. 2131-2 ;

2° Communicate the results of the examinations mentioned in 1°.

Le conseiller en génétique peut, dans les cas définis par le protocole d’organisation prévu à l’article R. 1132-5-2 :

1° Prescrire les examens de biologie médicale mentionnés à l’article R. 1131-2 ainsi qu’au 3° du I et aux 1° et 2° du II de l’article R. 2131-1, délivrer les informations dues à la personne concernée au titre de cette prescription, recueillir son consentement à la réalisation de l’examen et, s’il y a lieu, établir le document écrit mentionné à l’article L. 1131-1 et constater la volonté de la personne d’être tenue dans l’ignorance des résultats, selon les modalités prévues par les dispositions applicables à chaque catégorie d’examen. La consultation avec le conseiller en génétique se substitue, le cas échéant, aux consultations médicales prévues aux articles L. 2131-1, R. 1131-5 et R. 2131-2 ;

2° Procéder à la communication des résultats des examens mentionnés au 1°.
