The National Commission for Medical Accidents, set up by article L. 1142-10, is made up of the following members:
1° Four professional health experts appearing on one of the lists drawn up by the Cour de Cassation and the Courts of Appeal in application of article 2 of law no. 71-498 of 29 June 1971 relating to legal experts:
a) Two practising in a liberal capacity, proposed by the Centre national des professions libérales de santé, including at least one doctor ;
b) Two practitioners from the public health establishments mentioned in 1° of article L. 6152-1, proposed jointly by the presidents of the national conferences of presidents of the medical commission of public health establishments;
2° Three user representatives proposed by associations mentioned in article L. 1114-1 and approved at national level;
3° Twelve qualified persons, made up of :
a) Six people chosen for their expertise in the field of medical accident compensation law or medical liability or in training in the field of expert appraisal, including one representative of the Conseil national de l’ordre des médecins and one member of the administrative jurisdiction or one member of the judiciary, serving or retired, who is chairman of the national commission;
b) Six people chosen for their scientific expertise.
